Description
After completing your Nguna Volcano Trek, transfer to paradise on Pele Island!
You will be hosted by local families in village bungalows or sleep in tents on the white sand beach. All meals will be provided, expect fresh food from the garden and to help with food preparation tasks such as grating coconuts or making traditional island foods.
Pele island is a fantastic location for swimming and watersports, and is a great opportunity to live in a small village on an outer island, to experience authentic island life.
However, the islands of Nguna and Pele are also suffering from the effects of climate change. In partnership with the local conservation network (the longest-established network in all of Vanuatu) you will have the privilege of working alongside local community members on conservation and climate change projects. The actual projects will vary according to the time of year and also the network’s work program. Typical activities include tree replanting to address coastal erosion, coral replanting, food dehydration for periods of drought, litter collection and surveys, and surveys of coral reefs and marine life including turtles. As the villages of Pele and Nguna are linked to communities on the main island of Efate, some activities may take place on Efate Island.
Health and Safety Information and “What to Bring” will be provided to help you prepare for this unforgettable experience. A senior guide from Vanuatu Ecotours will accompany you to make the most of the adventure.
