Arriving in Vanuatu’s multi-cultural capital, Port Vila, spend a few days exploring Efate before heading to the outer islands of Tanna and Santo. Your itinerary includes a morning at Skybridge for unforgettable views in a rainforest setting, and a full day tour to the small offshore islands of Nguna and Pele. Your tour choices include hiking Nguna’s dormant volcano or an easier walk through coastal villages before heading to beautiful Pele island for an afternoon in paradise; or, head straight to Pele and spend the day enjoying spectacular white-sand beaches and the turquoise lagoon.
The southern island of Tanna is your next destination! Tanna is a vivid contrast to the more developed island of Efate, with strong cultural practices and the life-changing experience of Mt Yasur at sunset, one of the world’s most accessible and active volcanoes. Your half day tour choices include a visit to a kastom village or the spectacular Blue Cave.
A connecting flight takes you north to the large island of Espiritu Santo. Boasting world-class beaches and a range of water sports, plus inland and cultural adventures, your 4 days in Santo promise to be unforgettable! Santo is famous for its ‘blue holes’, spring-fed swimming spots in the heart of the rainforest, with water so clear and blue it will take your breath away! Your full-day Santo East Coast tour includes Matevulu or Nanda blue hole, as well as world-class Champagne Beach and lunch at a beachfront restaurant in the Francophone community of Port Olry.
Indicative Itinerary
(Note that some tours are not available every day so the itinerary will be customised based on your arrival day and the Air Vanuatu flight schedule)
- Day 1: Saturday. Arrive in Port Vila and settle into your accommodation in readiness for the experiences ahead!
- Day 2: Sunday. Take a morning tour to Vanuatu Skybridge, leaving time to enjoy the extensive resort facilities in the afternoon
- Day 3 : Monday. It’s an early start for a full day adventure at Nguna and/or Pele islands! Three tour options available according to your preferences!
- Day 4: Tuesday. Take a morning flight to Tanna then head out to experience Imaio Cultural Village and Yasur Volcano (sunset/ early evening viewing)
- Day 5: Wednesday. Today you have a choice of half day tour, Tanna Highlights or Yakel Kastom Village
- Day 6: Thursday. Time to explore Tanna’s underwater wonders! Choose a Snorkel Safari on Tanna’s pristine reefs or take the Blue Cave half day tour
- Day 7: Friday. Enjoy a leisurely start before your afternoon flight to Port Vila connecting to Santo
- Day 8: Saturday. Today’s Santo East Coast tour captures the essential highlights of Vanuatu’s largest island, including one of the Blue Holes and Champagne Beach
- Day 9: Sunday. Choose your half day tour – canoe up to Riri Blue Hole after visiting Million Dollar Point, or visit Leweton Cultural Village including the famous Water Music Ladies!
- Day 10: Monday. After your morning flight back to Port Vila enjoy afternoon at leisure, or take an optional tour with Vanuatu Ecotours
- Day 11: Tuesday. Your Vanuatu experience is complete! Head to the airport for international departure and incredible memories of our remote island archipelago.
